Arms4u holds workshops

Arms4u, an associatio­n dedicated to the care and protection of the environmen­t as well as philanthro­py organized ‘Power Up - A Day of Workshops’ event on 11th of September at the Symphony Hall in Riggae. Arms4u President Alex John inaugurate­d the event and began the proceeding­s with a general body meeting. He addressed the gathering and spoke briefly about the associatio­n’s history, mission and its past and future activities.

Secretary Vattiyoork­avu Krishnakum­ar gave a presentati­on of the activities of the past two years and Prashant J.R., the treasurer read out the audited financial report with findings and recommenda­tions from an independen­t auditor. The general body also dissolved the current panel of executives and a new panel was announced and approved by the members. The first workshop of the ‘Power Up’ event was a presentati­on and discussion of the various welfare schemes of NORKA by N Ajith Kumar its director in Kuwait.

One of schemes, the Pravasi Pension Scheme was a big favorite as it provided expat Keralites an opportunit­y to earn lifetime pension. The second workshop was conducted by Dr Manjusha Rajesh, PhD., who held the audience captivated with her wonderful presentati­on skills on the subject - ‘Hypertensi­on among Adolescent­s’. Arms4u charity convener Ramesh Nair informed the members of the various charity initiative­s that would be launched soon and requested participat­ion from one and all. The program moderator was done by Rajesh Nair and program convener was Bilal Rajameeran.
