NBK partners with JACC to support Kuwaiti culture
KUWAIT: National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) partners with Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Cultural Centre (JACC) in supporting its ‘Tonight 80s’ show during October, as part of the bank’s continuous efforts to maintain the social and cultural institutions’ initiatives in Kuwait.
NBK’s participation in the ‘Tonight 80s’ show reflects the bank’s distinguished legacy economically and socially. NBK’s eighties era mirrors Kuwait’s financial history being the first bank in Kuwait and one of the largest social contributors. NBK’s camel money box remains until today one of the most symbolic connection between the bank and its the community. NBK’s Public Relations and Communications Assistant General Manager, Manal Al-Mattar, said that NBK’s support to “tonight! 80s” show is a gesture of recognition of the important and pivotal role that this leading cultural institution plays in promoting our culture and shedding light on its arts and rich heritage.
“Our CSR strategy focuses on supporting cultural activities that aim at building bridges between generations,” she added. “We trust that cultural and historical related events do attract a large segment of the society. It is our duty as a leading institution to be part in spreading cultural activities, helping youth to be engaged more and continuing to enhance Kuwait’s history and tradition for years to come.”

It’s worth mentioning that the ‘Tonight 80s’ show took the audience on a memory trip to the eighties. The era that is considered the ‘Golden Age’ of the Kuwaiti television, with its various programs, series and songs, engraved in the memory of Kuwaitis. The audience re-lived the glorious eighties, looking back in our past not with sadness or nostalgia, but with pride and appreciation to the years that formed the characteristics of our society today.
