Romanian PM visits Kuwait; number of agreements signed
Premier, Speaker meet Romanian Prime Minister
KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah met yesterday at Seif Palace with Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak AlHamad Al-Sabah, accompanied by Prime Minister of Romania Viorica Dancila and an official delegation accompanying her, on the occasion of her visit to Kuwait. His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah attended the meeting, which was also attended by Minister of the Amiri Diwan Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah.
His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak had received his Romanian counterpart at Seif Palace earlier yesterday. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Interior Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, head of the honorary delegation Sheikh Dr Salem Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and other senior officials attended the meeting. His Highness the Prime Minister then held a lunch banquet at Kuwait Towers in honor of the visiting official and the official delegation accompanying her.
Meanwhile, Kuwait’s National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanem held official talks with Dancila and her accompanying delegation on the occasion of her official visit to the country. The talks revolved around promoting bilateral relations and issues of common concern, Al-Dustoor network said in a press release. The meeting was attended by a number of MPs in addition to Kuwait’s Ambassador to Romania Talal Al-Hajri and Romanian Ambassador to Kuwait Daniel Tanase.

In other news, His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince separately received Speaker Ghanem, escorting the delegations that took part in the third Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments (MSEAP) in Antalya, Turkey, and the Inter-Parliamentary Union meeting (IPU) in Geneva, Switzerland. His Highness the Amir also received His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Prime Minister, while His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad received His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak, Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh.
Separately, His Highness the Amir sent yesterday a cable of condolences to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani over the victims of the attacks that targeted a number of electoral polls in various areas in Afghanistan. In the cable, His Highness expressed sincere sentiments and prayed to Allah Almighty to bestow mercy on the dead and swift recovery for the injured. His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Prime Minister sent similar cables to the Afghan president. Meanwhile, Speaker Ghanem sent cables of condolences to Chairman of Afghanistan’s Senate, Fazal Hadi Muslimyar and Afghanistan’s Parliament Speaker, Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi.
