Defense Minister won’t receive well-wishers

KUWAIT: First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah will not, due to bad weather, receive well-wishers today following his return to Kuwait from an overseas treatment trip on Friday, the Ministry of Defense announced. Sheikh Nasser will not be able to receive well-wishers due to heavy rainfall, the ministry added in a brief statement. The ministry announced earlier that Sheikh Nasser would be receiving the well-wishers today between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm at the Armed Forces Officers Club on Gulf Street.

Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad had returned home following an overseas treatment trip. A ministry statement quoted the First Deputy Premier as saying “I would like to take this opportunit­y to express my utmost appreciati­on and gratitude to our father His Highness the Amir and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the patriarch of AlSabah family and Chief of Kuwait National Guard His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, and Al-Sabah family for their constant following up of my condition during my treatment and recovery period.” “I would like also to thank the National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanem, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Ministers, MPs, citizens, and personnel and staff of the defense ministry for their prayers,” said Sheikh Nasser Al-Sabah. He prayed to Allah Almighty to bless everyone with perpetual good health and wellness.

Kuwait’s Army General Staff extended utmost congratula­tions to Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad on his safe return home after spending a period of medical treatment abroad. Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Mohammad Khaled Al-Kheder and Army’s Deputy Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Abdullah AlNawaf Al-Sabah congratula­ted, on behalf of all Kuwaiti army personnel and staff, Sheikh Nasser AlSabah on his return home, the army’s directorat­e of moral guidance and public relations said in a press statement. They also prayed to Allah Almighty to bless the defense minister with long-lasting good health and wellness to resume his duties and achieve further progress for Kuwait. The military top officials also prayed to Allah Almighty to perpetuate the grace of security, safety, and wealth on the country under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Sheikh Sabah AlAhmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber AlMubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. — KUNA
