Kuwait marks constitution day
KUWAIT: Kuwait had gained a glorious status among other countries in the region when it ratified its constitution in 1962, National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanem said yesterday. In a press release on the anniversary of ratifying the Constitution of the State of Kuwait, Ghanem noted that championing public participation, freedoms and solidifying the state strategic and political immunity are the most important gains of such ratification. In this regard, he extended gratitude to the generation that worked hard to establish the constitution, as well as to all political, cultural and social figures at that time, which had the final say in consolidating faith in democratic and parliamentary life. The Speaker prayed to Allah Almighty to protect the country and keep its progress, freedom and prosperity safe under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. — KUNA
