Huawei Kuwait holds ‘Seeds for the Future’ program at ACK
In partnership with the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs in Kuwait, Huawei Technologies, a leading global information and communication (ICT) solutions provider officially launched its global flagship CSR program “Seeds for the Future” in Kuwait for the fifth year in a row.
The event was held and supported by the Australian College of Kuwait (ACK) on December 5, 2018. “I would like to thank Huawei for sending our alumni to China to gain the practice and the experience,” said Vice President of Administrative Affairs at ACK, Dr. Abdullah Karkouh.
This year, Huawei sponsored eight young talents to participate in the two week program to China. Seeds for the Future was launched in Kuwait in 2014. In 2017, Huawei Technologies Kuwait signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs to advance the ICT skills of the youth in Kuwait. The common goal for the program between Huawei and the MOY is to help young students enter the Information and Telecommunication Solution (ICT) fields, develop their ICT skills, enhance knowledge transfer, improve young generations understanding of ICT and gain practical international work experience.
Since its inception in 2008, the program offered training programs to nearly 10,000 students globally and has facilitated knowledge transfer, cultivated local ICT talent and increased digital engagement with different entities, with over 280 partnerships with universities in 96 countries all over the world. The two week program in China will start in Beijing where the students will receive Mandarin language classes and cultural training such as calligraphy and painting and also go on city tours.
The students then will spend time at Huawei’s Shenzhen campus where they will learn about trends in mobile internet application and development, intelligent network application and development and many other cutting edge solutions through technology workshops and networking events.
