KD 23.8 m granted for housing

KUWAIT: The total number of property loans and grants given by Kuwait Credit Bank (KCB) in November amounted to KD 23.8 million ($78 million), KCB said in a statement yesterday. The real estate portfolio’s total loans amounted to KD 119.5 million ($393 million) in November, the bank said in a press statement, adding loans for constructi­on of private units reached KD 1.54 million ($5 million). Furthermor­e, KCB mentioned lending around KD 14.8 million ($48.6) loans for building government units, and about KD 4.4 million ($14.4 million) for house purchasing. It also lent KD 159,000 ($522,000) for private housing expansion projects, KD 975,000 ($3.2 million) for expanding government houses, and KD 1.85 million ($6 million) to citizens of special needs. Overall loans from the KCB portfolio (for maintenanc­e and expansion projects) amounted to KD 80,000 ($263,000), said KCB.
