98,888 housing welfare applications by November end
KUWAIT: The total number of housing welfare applications filed till the end of November was 98,888, said the official spokesperson of the Public Authority for Housing Welfare Ibrahim Al-Nashi at a press conference, noting that 2,778 of the applicants had disability priority. Nashi added that 8,326 applications were made for houses in South Sabah AlAhmad
residential city project till the end of 2017. Nashi said 43.6 percent of Mutlaa city roads have been laid, which is ahead of the 35.2 percent specified in the contract for the same period. He also noted that 11.84 percent of the infrastructure needed for 4,999 plots in blocks 1 and 4 of Mutlaa city have been completed compared to 10.66 specified in the project’s contract. Nashi said 69.24 percent of the total of 520 apartments in Jaber Al-Ahmad City have been completed compared to 63.32 percent specified in the project’s contract for the same period.
Mapping system
Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan approved a ‘mapping’ system to compare economic activities in Kuwait to those in other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states with the aim of unifying statistical data at government
bodies following the UN’s related statistics. The resolution urged relevant government bodies to issue lists of the activities subject to their respective control as well as the regulations and description of each activity.
Interest-free loans
MP Safa Al-Hashem yesterday congratulated the Kuwaiti people in a tweet, announcing that the government approved granting retired citizens interest-free loans equal to 10 months of their pension, adding that the government had also approved the early retirement law equally for both male and female citizens. “Good news! The government has agreed to grant retirees interest-free loans equal to 10 months of their pension,” she tweeted, noting that the move was nice and that its application would be even nicer. “The Kuwaiti people deserve this,” she stressed.
