ACIC commemorates the 2018 International Day of Persons with Disabilities at Avenues

Ahli Capital Investment Company (ACIC), the investment arm of Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) celebrated International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) amidst children and members from the local non-profit organization - ‘Training Gate International’ at Phase 2 Avenues Mall from the 1st to 3rd December. It witnessed overwhelming participation of physically disabled people, senior citizens, and school children.

Observed globally on 3rd December every year, the 2018 theme for IDPD is ‘Empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equality’. Building on the theme, ACIC employees volunteered to work with the organizers, Training Gate International to present a variety of activities including a painting section for children, a walkathon and a remarkable musical performance by a blind pianist.

Furthermore, with the aim of removing barriers that people living with disabilities face, the event also included a special section where ACIC employees invested time in teaching attendees to introduce themselves in sign language. The three-day event organized by Training Gate International served as an ideal platform aligning with the ABK Group’s commitment to support the disabled and making a difference in the communities in which it operates. ACIC is honored to be associated with this noble cause.
