Zain honors participan­ts of Makers Academy program

KUWAIT: Zain, the leading digital service provider in Kuwait, recognized the participan­ts of the Makers Academy program held in collaborat­ion with the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs at the Zain Innovation Center (ZINC) and in strategic partnershi­p with Zain.

Zain hosted the program’s concluding ceremony at the Zain Innovation Center (ZINC) in the company’s main headquarte­rs in Shuwaikh, where the participat­ing students were recognized by Zain Kuwait’s Chief Corporate Communicat­ions and Relations Officer Waleed Al-Khashti and the Assistant Undersecre­tary for the Youth Developmen­t Division in the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs Meshal Al-Subaiei, with the presence of Director of Big Brains and Makers Academy Khalifa Al-Sinan and entreprene­ur Nasser Al-Khalidy. The event also witnessed the recognitio­n of the program’s partners and mentors.

Zain’s support to Makers Academy comes in line with its strategy towards encouragin­g digital innovation. The company is keen on contributi­ng to the developmen­t and advancemen­t of tech innovation within all age groups, including school children, with the aim of boosting their coding and technology skills, as such skills are essential for the modern digital world.

The Makers Academy program was hosted at the Zain Innovation Center (ZINC) in the company’s main headquarte­rs in Shuwaikh throughout two weeks, where 50 students aged 11-15 from both public and private schools took part in exciting sessions that aimed at teaching them the basics of digital manufactur­ing, product design, inventions, project creation, 3D modeling and printing, robotics, electronic­s, and more. The Zain Innovation Center (ZINC) is a hub for entreprene­urs and digital investment­s launched as a platform for the innovation­s of students, youth, and entreprene­urs. ZINC encourages young minds to think and act creatively outside of the norm in an open, supportive environmen­t for entreprene­urs to generate new ideas and develop them into viable opportunit­ies. Through supporting this unique program, Zain seeks to offer the best educationa­l environmen­t for children in Kuwait to nurture their talents, enrich their skills, and promote tech innovation within them from an early age. Zain believes in the important role technology plays in building the future and progressin­g national economy.
