Malaysian Senate President invited to visit Kuwait

KUALA LUMPUR: President of the Malaysian Senate SA Vigneswara­n yesterday received a written invitation from Kuwait’s National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanem to visit Kuwait at the head of a parliament­ary delegation. The invitation was handed by Kuwaiti Ambassador to Malaysia Saad Al-Assousi.

Speaking after a meeting with Vigneswara­n, Assousi said that the Malaysian official promised to respond to this invitation at the earliest opportunit­y along with a delegation that will include representa­tives of all political parties in the Malaysian government. He pointed out that the Malaysian official stressed his keenness to discuss ways to develop bilateral relations in all fields with the Kuwaiti side, stressing that the Malaysian Senate will work hard to develop relations between the two countries, especially in matters related to the cooperatio­n of ministries and government agencies.

He added that the President of the Malaysian Senate is continuous­ly following the developmen­ts in the Kuwaiti National Assembly, where he praised the Kuwaiti parliament­ary experience, describing it as unique in the region. He conveyed his greetings to the Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly. Ambassador Assousi said that the meeting was attended by some members of the Senate where they discussed ways of developing relations between the Kuwaiti National Assembly and the Malaysian Senate, praising the historical relations between the two countries, especially in the parliament­ary and all fields and sectors.
