Police storm Amghara garages used to repair ‘reckless drivers’ cars
KUWAIT: Ahmadi and Jahra traffic department carried out a surprise inspection campaign in Amghara after discovering an industrial land allocated to repair sports cars was used by violators for reckless behavior. Residency violators who were repairing the cars illegally were arrested. The area was raided and 18 vehicles were found, some with Gulf plates, others forged and some without plates. A mechanic who was found without any ID was arrested.
Ceiling collapse
The kitchen ceiling of an apartment in Salmiya collapsed, prompting Salmiya fire station to respond. They found the cause of the accident was a cooking gas leak that led to an explosion but no fire. Firemen took out the stove and gas cylinder and secured the place. Separately, firemen from the Sulaibkhat and Farwaniya fire station fought a blaze in an Andalus house. The fire, which had started on the second floor, was put out without injuries.
Gamblers arrested
Ahmadi detectives, in cooperation with Fintas police, sent out patrols to check for persons seen in a video circulated on social media gambling and drinking in Mahboula. Police arrested three persons in an area surrounded by trees and plants. Ahmadi detectives also arrested 14 Asians, including several who appeared in the video clip. The gambling dealer and liquor seller were also arrested.
Road closed
The traffic department will temporarily close Fahd AlMalik Road (208) today in both directions due to an activity by the education ministry from 7:30 am until the activity is over. The education ministry in Mubarak Al-Kabeer education zone will make 4,000 students carry a Kuwaiti flag 2,019 m long, a Guinness world record.
