KUWAIT: An exhibition in Kuwait aiming to promote banks and other financial institutions as alluring workplaces for the nation’s youth is an effort to bring His Highness the Amir’s vision to fruition, said a minister yesterday. His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah’s development plan revolves around youth support, State Minister of Economic Affairs Mariam AlAqeel told reporters as the expo kicked off. “We want highly competent Kuwaitis who are able to contribute to the development of their nation,” she added, touting the private sector as an enticing workplace for job seekers.

The expo has met its objective of establishing a ‘link’ between the private sector and job candidates, according to the deputy director general for manpower affairs Iman Al-Ansari. She was satisfied with the impressive turnout for the expo, as an increasing number of Kuwaiti youngsters look to foray into the banking sector, which has worked to expedite its hiring process. Youngsters on the lookout for a job should expect similar events in the near future, the minister added, promising to support them amid their pursuit of a meaningful career. — KUNA
