KFSD hosts ‘hazardous material’ workshop
KUWAIT: Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) held a workshop yesterday for government departments and engineering offices to raise the awareness level about hazardous material. The workshop was conducted in presence of Deputy Director General for Prevention Sector Maj Gen Khalid Abdullah Fahd and the participation of the union of engineering offices and consultation houses. The workshop discussed the requirements for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) networks, requirements for containers of combustible liquids and prevention conditions of power generators. Meanwhile, KFSD carried out an exercise at Mubarak Hospital in the nuclear medicine department about a fire in the gamma 1 ray room with missing persons. Hawally fire center responded, led by Major Jassem Al-Saqqai. After they arrived at the scene, they divided into two groups - one to fight the fire and the other for rescue. Two injured persons were found and handed to paramedics.
