Vendors wait for customers at a livestock market in Kuwait yesterday, ahead of the Muslim holiday of Eid Al-Adha which marks the end of the annual pilgrimage or Hajj to the Saudi holy city of Makkah and is celebrated in remembranc­e of Abraham’s readiness to sacrifice his son to God. Known as the “big” festival, Eid Al-Adha is celebrated each year by Muslims sacrificin­g various animals according to religious traditions, including cows, camels, goats and sheep.
