KUWAIT:
Vendors wait for customers at a livestock market in Kuwait yesterday, ahead of the Muslim holiday of Eid Al-Adha which marks the end of the annual pilgrimage or Hajj to the Saudi holy city of Makkah and is celebrated in remembrance of Abraham’s readiness to sacrifice his son to God. Known as the “big” festival, Eid Al-Adha is celebrated each year by Muslims sacrificing various animals according to religious traditions, including cows, camels, goats and sheep.
