Commerce Ministry monitors ‘back to school’ prices
KUWAIT: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said it completed its plan to monitor school supplies amid preparations for the new school year in order to maintain suitable prices for consumers. The ministry said the supervision department took the necessary preparations to monitor school products’ prices because necessary plans were made and teams were instructed to start working on ensuring quality and availability.
Meanwhile, the social affairs ministry undersecretary said work is regular at all organizational units in all ministry sectors, particularly social care and its housing homes. He said attendance percentage at the Social Affairs Ministry reached 65 percent of the total employees yesterday, adding that the rest of employees are on annual leaves. In other news, the customs department banned the import of ruminant meat from Lesotho due to anthrax. Meanwhile, it lifted a ban on bird meat and eggs from Ghana and Togo.
