Kuwait welcomes freestyle champ Sean Garnier
KUWAIT: Alghanim Motors is excited to welcome Arnaud Sean Garnier - the French freestyle footballer and athlete - to Kuwait next week as part of his world tour. During Garnier’s Kuwait tour he will showcase and screen his film Sean Garnier vs. the World at the Honda Alghanim showroom in Shuwaikh on Wednesday October 16th.
The full-length feature film catalogues Garnier’s humble beginnings in the French countryside, his move to Paris at the young age of fourteen, and the journey of his life through football and self-discovery over his twentyyear-long career. His career took him all over the world and back and saw Garnier develop the unique style he is known for: combining music, breakdance, jumps and flips, football and basketball movements into to his routines.
The film is directed and produced by William Sarne and showcases that Garnier’s success and his determination to combine art and sports.
Garnier will also visit 360 Mall for the esports finals of MrD0ne’s Game On occurring Thursday October 17, a new e-football platform made by the players, for the players. In the tournament, teams consisting of 2-players compete for points using a revised set of rules on the latest e-football game on Playstation 4. A key draw to this game is the non-traditional rules, where team members tag each other in and out during times of high-importance like scoring a goal, half time or when a red card is given. It guarantees an intense, action-packed battle of skill and lightning-fast moves.
Since leaving professional football, Garnier has championed alternative sports. In conjunction with Red Bull he has increased awareness of freestyle football - highlighted by his win at the inaugural Red Bull Street Style World Finals in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 2008. His presence in Kuwait in conjunction with Red Bull emphasizes the results of a life dedicated to perseverance, willpower, and a desire to perform under all conditions.
