NBK named ‘The Bank of the Year in Kuwait’

KUWAIT: National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) has been named “The Bank of the Year in Kuwait” for 2019 by the leading and internatio­nally-renowned Financial Times magazine ‘The Banker’, in acknowledg­ment of its exceptiona­l performanc­e. The prestigiou­s award highlights NBK’s well-establishe­d presence among the global banking consortium­s, its strong financial position, robust asset quality in addition to its innovative initiative­s as well as banking solutions over the past 12 months.

The award underpins NBK’s solid business model, prudent as well as discipline­d approach to risk management, in addition to its highly recognized and very stable management team. The award was presented to Fawzi Al-Dajani, NBK London General Manager, on behalf of NBK at a glittering awarding ceremony especially held in London for the occasion and attended by host of internatio­nal and regional senior bankers and executives.

Founded in 1926, The Banker is a financial intelligen­ce magazine, which selects one winning bank for each of the 120 countries judges. Over 1,000 applicatio­ns are collected and judges select winning banks based on which ones they believe have made the most progress over the past 12 months. NBK continues to enjoy collective­ly the highest ratings among all banks in the Middle East from three internatio­nal rating agencies Moody’s, Fitch Ratings, and Standard and Poor’s. NBK was also named among Global Finance’s list of the 50 safest banks in the world for 14 consecutiv­e times.
