In­ter­na­tional Women’s Group hosts Aus­tralian Cul­ture

The In­ter­na­tional Women’s Group cel­e­brated the start of 2020 in style with an Aus­tralia Day event at the Crowne Plaza. Sun­day Jan­uary 19, in the pres­ence of fe­male am­bas­sadors and wives of am­bas­sadors ac­cred­ited to the State of Kuwait, IWG mem­bers, prom­i­nent women within the Kuwait so­ci­ety and in­ter­na­tional com­mu­nity.

The IWG brings its usual so­phis­ti­cated event plan­ning to Kuwait with Aus­tralian Am­bas­sador Jonathan Gilbert at­tend­ing the event to present his top ten places to visit in Aus­tralia. The event also paid ho­mage to the peo­ple of Aus­tralia as they face the worst fires the coun­try has ever seen. Am­bas­sador Gilbert made a point of thank­ing Kuwait for the love and sup­port at this time of great tragedy and pressed that Aus­tralia will fight back and will con­tinue to be the most ex­tra­or­di­nary place to visit.

The pre­sen­ta­tion was ac­com­pa­nied by a quiz and a dis­play of all things Aus­tralian in­clud­ing a sumptuous buf­fet fea­tur­ing Aus­tralian clas­sics such as Lam­ing­tons, Aus­tralian lamb and prawns.

The IWG Board and mem­bers bid farewell to Mrs Josephine Cole (Wife of the Am­bas­sador of Malta) on the oc­ca­sion of their de­par­ture and the end of their du­ties in the State of Kuwait. IWG Pres­i­dent Anita de Vo­gel, presided over the event and high­lighted with great thanks, the many years of help and sup­port of the out­go­ing Vice Pres­i­dent of IWG. IWG mem­bers and guests ended the lovely morn­ing with great raf­fle prizes and an authen­tic de­li­cious Aus­tralian cui­sine.
