Horeca Kuwait 2020 successfully concludes with record visitors
Horeca Kuwait 2020 9th exhibition successfully concluded its third and last day with a big ceremony to distribute the cooking competition awards to winners and attracting record numbers of specialized visitors that were way beyond organizers’ expectations. The ceremony was attended by participating and sponsoring companies’ executives, guests and participants.
A statement issued by Leaders Group said that exhibitors booths and sections witnessed several meetings and discussions that resulted in making some extra partnerships and honoring participants by Horeca organizing committee headed by Leaders Group general manager, Nabila Al-Anjeri, and the exhibition’s executive manager, Mohammed Najia and Hospitality Services manager, Joumana Dammous.
Yesterday’s competitions included the best burger meal, the best fruits & vegetable platter, the best meat dish, the best Kuwaiti dessert and making Nesspresso Coffee.
The third day also witnessed holding a number of specialized seminars on the advantages of using online delivery ordering apps for restaurants presented by speakers Hamad Al-Jedai’; founder and chairman of Zyda company, Seham Al-Husseini, general manager of Deliveroo App, Waseem Makarem; TALABAT App general manager and Ahmed Salamah; partner in Bilbayt.
Notably, a seminar was held Tuesday evening on “Ideas & Trends In Today’s Catering Industry” to be presented by Ibrahim Al-Houtti; MMC Catering company CEO, Edmond Barakat; Barakat Foods Company deputy manager and Bibi Hayat; founder and owner of Bibi Hayat Events.
All seminars were moderated by Nada Alameddine, Partner - “Hodema Consulting Services.
Speakers in all seminars focused on creativity as the best means to develop business and expand them and noted that 20-25 per cent of catering equipment of Kuwaiti projects go to GCC states like KSA, which indicate growing demand on Kuwaiti cuisine and services. some speakers also criticized government tendering process always adapting the lowest prices at the expense of quality.
The second day also witnessed a special ceremony organized by the French ambassador to Kuwait, Marie Masdupuy to honor the organizing committee represented by Nabila Al-Anjeri, Mohammed Najia and Joumana Dammous in addition to members of the jury panels including French chefs Mark Mubash; the head of the French Cooking Academy, Thomas Gugler; the head of the World Association of Chef Societies (WACS) and the founder of the world bakers competition-France, chef Francois Pozzoli.
Ambassador Masdupuy also threw a banquet on the occasion at the French embassy headquarters in Jabriya, which was attended by members of the diplomatic corps in Kuwait and dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Masdupuy hailed Horeca Kuwait and its organizers noting that it had been annually gaining more success ever since inception in 2012 with only 20 companies participating till participants reached 85 companies in 2020.
