Shaheed Park commemorates Kuwait martyrs

-

KUWAIT: Shaheed Park hosted an Art exhibition on August 2, 2020 to commemorate Kuwait’s martyrs on the 30th anniversary of the Iraqi Invasion. The ‘Consolidation’ art exhibition, held at the park’s multipurpose hall, featured art by artist an designer Jasem Al-Nashmi, who designed and executed an interactive artistic structure to commemorate Kuwaiti martyrs. Visitors remotely interacted with the digital monument while observing social distancing, and each platform contained information

about the concept of consolidation.

In this regard, the park’s manager Salman AlRoshoud said that the monument was especially designed to honor those who sacrificed their lives in defense of Kuwait and its freedom. He added that the name ‘consolidation’ was chosen to reconfirm the concept of solidarity during wars and various challenges, and show how a group of individuals can create a force capable of defeating enemies and overcoming challenges.

Meanwhile, Nashmi said that the structure is made by the people for the people, adding that it there is a digital platform where people can view the structure online, in addition to the real-life monument built in the park to show visitors the heroism of the resistance during the invasion and commemorate the martyrs.

“This structure highlights the positive sides during the invasion when the Kuwaiti people showed unrivalled solidarity, patience, courage, faith, loyalty, unity and patriotism,” Nashmi stressed, noting that each of these values is represented in the structure by an upside down pyramid.
