Deputy Amir receives state officials at Seif Palace
KUWAIT: His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Seif Palace yesterday National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali AlGhanem. His Highness the Deputy Amir also received His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled AlHamad Al-Sabah, as well as Deputy Prime Minister, Interior Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Khaled Al-Saleh. Furthermore, His Highness Sheikh Nawaf received Foreign Minister and Acting Defense Minister Sheikh Dr Ahmad Nasser Mohammad Al-Sabah.
In other news, Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr Ahmad Nasser Mohammad Al-Sabah received yesterday Ambassador of Guyana to Kuwait Dr Shamir Ally on the occasion of ending his tenure. Sheikh Dr Ahmad commended contributions of Ally in promoting bilateral relations. The meeting was attended by Assistant Foreign Minister for the Minister’s office Saleh AlLoughani.
Separately, Sheikh Dr Ahmad AlSabah cabled US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Saturday, expressing condolences on the death of the former US national security adviser General Brent Scowcroft. In the cable, the foreign minister eulogized General Scowcroft who robustly stood on Kuwait’s side in the face of the 1990 Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. The Kuwaiti people will not forget his support during the dark days of Kuwait and the Gulf, Sheikh Dr Ahmad wrote to Pompeo. Moreover, he has underlined the historic and deep-rooted ties bonding the State of Kuwait with the United State of America.
