KUWAIT: Jazeera Airways continues to move forward in its growth plans as it takes delivery of its latest Airbus A320neo from the manufacturer’s facility in Toulouse, France. The new aircraft landed at Kuwait International Airport on September 24 at 4.50pm local time, growing the Jazeera fleet to 16 aircraft and supporting the expansion of the airline’s network to over 50 destinations in 2022.

Speaking of the new delivery, Jazeera Airways Chief Executive Officer, Rohit Ramachandran, confirmed that the airline has not revised its aircraft order book during the pandemic, foreseeing a strong return of travel appetite to pre-COVID-19 levels and more. He said: “We’re investing in A320neo aircraft to enable Jazeera Airways to serve destinations located up to 6.5 hours from our hub Kuwait. These expansion plans are supporting a strong appetite for travel from tourists as well as a large community of expatriates living in the Middle East who look for a value offering. We have opened a number of new destinations this year, giving more travel choices for our customers. Next year will see further expansion of our ever-growing network as the world pulls clear of the pandemic.

“Jazeera Airways is also positively contributing to the business and economic environment by creating new job and trade opportunities for Kuwait, while maintaining a flexible business model enabling the airline to weather through challenges. We’re supporting new jobs for pilots, engineers, cabin crew and local businesses. In fact, Jazeera Airways has a strong multiplier effect on the Kuwait economy: Every KD 1 we invest brings an additional KD 11 benefit to Kuwait. Jazeera Airways also continues to safeguard the rights of customers, shareholders and stakeholders and will continue to do so with its expansion.”

Today, Jazeera Airways operates a fleet of 16 aircraft, eight of the A320 model and eight of the A320neo model. One further A320neo will be delivered this year.

The A320neo offers a range of benefits: Fuelsaving and longer range, quieter engines with less CO2 emissions, additional payload and lower operating costs. The aircraft is fitted with the airline’s standard cabin configuration including its signature leather seats.

Jazeera Airways operates commercial and cargo flights out of its Jazeera Terminal T5 at Kuwait International Airport and has rights to fly to 50 popular destinations across the Middle East, India and Europe.
