OIC affirms commitment towards Palestinians’ rights over their lands
JEDDAH: The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hussein Taha stressed Monday, the organization’s absolute commitment and firm support for the right of the Palestinian people to sovereignty over their occupied land, including East Jerusalem, as the capital of the State of Palestine.
This came during the extraordinary open-ended meeting of the organization’s executive committee at the level of permanent delegates at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah, to discuss the ongoing Zionist attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque. Taha said that he had sent letters to several international actors expressing the organization’s rejection and condemnation of the Zionist occupation’s attempts to impose the temporal and spatial division of Al-Aqsa Mosque. He called the international community to take an urgent action to put an end to the Zionist violations of the holy sites and to unify political, economic and media efforts to protect the city of Jerusalem and its holy sites and to take appropriate political and legal measures against the Zionist entity to stop its continuous violations against the Palestinian people and their holy sites.
For his part, Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the OIC, Dr Saleh Al-Suhaibani, expressed the Kingdom’s strong condemnation on the repeated attacks and Zionist violations against worshipers in Al-Aqsa Mosque. Suhaibani called on the international community to take an effective action on occupation forces to hold full responsible for these crimes and violations provocative actions.
