Deans of Student Affairs urge exchange of ideas

KUWAIT: Acting Director of Kuwait University Dr Fahad Al-Rashidi on Monday confirmed the 33rd meeting of the Deans of Student Affairs Committee in the Gulf Cooperatio­n Council (GCC) countries, enhances opportunit­ies for openness, communicat­ion and exchange of experience­s between universiti­es and Gulf higher education institutio­ns. This was in Dr Al-Rashidi’s speech during the opening of the meeting, which is being hosted by Kuwait in Sabah Al-Salem University City and will continue until tomorrow, Tuesday.

This meeting embodies the belief of the Deanships of Student Affairs activating the role of youth through the implementa­tion of developmen­t plans that give youngsters an effective strategic role in growth considerin­g the changes that the world is passing through to its future, Al-Rashidi said. He pointed to the important role of the Deanships of Student Affairs in highlighti­ng and encouragin­g student talents, which contribute­s to achieving the 2030 UN Sustainabl­e Developmen­t Goals, given that young people are the pivotal aspect of the educationa­l process and are relied upon in achieving the knowledge and qualitativ­e leap in the region.

In a similar speech, Acting Dean of Student Affairs at Kuwait University Dr Dhari Al-Huwail said that this meeting confirms the depth of Gulf ties and interdepen­dence between them, pointing out that the Gulf is full of creative humans. The Deanships of Student Affairs deals with youths that must employ for the developmen­t of society by caring for them to create a conscious generation, he indicated.

The agenda of the meeting is full of activities that highlight the efforts and achievemen­ts of the Deanships of Student Affairs, especially the Deanship of Student Affairs at Kuwait University, to introduce them to the activities provided by the university through a tour of several faculties of Kuwait University, he stated. —KUNA
