Diplomatic women’s committee celebrates spring festival

The Diplomatic Women’s Committee prepared its activities for the month of March celebratin­g the Spring Festival, which concluded many other occasions, such as Internatio­nal Women’s Day and Mother’s Day, which is celebrated in Arab countries, and Nowruz, which is celebrated in many countries in Central Asia, Turkey and Iran. This festival is held every year in one of the vital sites of the State of Kuwait. This year, the Yom Al-Bahhar Heritage village was chosen because of its strategic location on the Gulf as it is considered one of the important cultural and heritage sites.

Many African, Asian and Central Asian countries participat­ed in this festival such as Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Nepal, Tanzania, Sudan and the Kingdom of Eswatini. The countries of Central Asia also presented the various traditiona­l and classic cuisines that are special for the festivals. Some folklore costumes were also displayed. The audience enjoyed music and folk songs and visited the Ministry of Informatio­n’s museum located at Yom Al-Bahhar Heritage village.

The members of the committee welcomed the ambassador­s, spouses of the ambassador­s and diplomats accredited to the State of Kuwait at the Diwan of Yom Al-Bahhar, where the advisor of the committee presented an overview of the history and the importance of this strategic site in the past, as travelers, divers and trade exchange trips start from this location. In conclusion, Ms. Narges Al-Shatti praised DWC board members specially the media and public relations officer Fauzia Abdul Basit for her great efforts and the participan­ts who contribute­d to make the activities and programs of the committee a great success.
