Second RB railway line construction project announced in Latvia
Continuing the realization of activities associated with Rail Baltica project, RB Rail has announced the next procurement process, as confirmed by the company.
The procurement for construction and supervision of the new railway line on the Vangaži-Salaspils-Misa route, which will account for 60 km of the new railway line, will be performed in the interest of Transport Ministry of the Republic of Latvia. The deadline for submission of projects is set for 18 June 2018, as noted by RB Rail representatives.
«The new procurement applies to the 60 km Rail Baltica railway line in Latvia on the route from Vangaži to Ķivuļurga River and from Ķivuļurga River, through Salaspils, to Misa River. The construction project’s specification includes creation of ten bridges, including the bridge over Daugava River with a length of 1.6 km, as well as 14 road crossings, 15 railway crossings, 4 animal crossings, 45 culverts and 12 gas pipeline crossings,» says RB Rail technical director Marts Nīlsens.
The company notes that similar to other construction procurements, this one will be organized in two stages: the first being candidate and project selection for the second stage and the second being the evaluation of candidates and their proposals and signing of contracts. More detailed information about the required amount of work will be provided to candidates who qualify for the second stage of the procurement.
