Latvian tax collector to quicken export declaration processing

Baltic News Network - - News -

The processing of export declarations at the Latvian State Revenue Service (SRS) will be faster from June 4, as the process will be run automatically, the institution announced.

The declarations to be processed automatically in the SRS Electronic Customs Data Processing System will be those fulfilling the following criteria:

– in the declaration, the fields «local customs clearance» and «on sealing» are not marked

– no warnings and/or notifications from the Integrated Tariff Management System are received

– and the declaration, following its risk assessment, is not passed on to control measures.

If the export declaration does not fulfil one or more criteria, its automatic processing is cancelled and additional processing is done manually by a customs official according to the procedure used to date, the SRS stated.
