airBaltic de­cides to in­crease per­mit­ted cabin bag­gage size

Latvia’s na­tional airBaltic air­line an­nounces plans to in­crease per­mit­ted size of cabin bag­gage. From 1 Au­gust onward, per­mit­ted cabin bag­gage size for airBaltic flights will be 55x40x23 cm, as re­ported by the com­pany.

«This is a ma­jor step in our strat­egy to help im­prove pas­sen­gers’ flight ex­pe­ri­ence,» com­ments airBaltic CEO Martin Gauss.

The air­line be­lieves new ap­proved sizes for cabin bag­gage are among the most pop­u­lar sizes among airBaltic’s global part­ners. «The same sizes for cabin bag­gage are used by air­lines line Air France, KLM and Al­i­talia.»

Pas­sen­gers us­ing airBaltic travel ser­vices are per­mit­ted to carry with them cabin bag­gage (55x40x23 cm) and one per­sonal item (30x40x10 cm). The to­tal weight of cabin bag­gage and per­sonal items is not al­lowed to ex­ceed 8 kg when trav­el­ling with Ba­sic or Pre­mium tick­ets.
