Riga tourist stay numbers up by 7%
In the hotels and other accommodation places of the Latvian capital, Riga, the number of tourists from abroad staying during the second quarter of 2018 has reached 419 000, which is by 7% more than in the respective period last year.
The data by the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia as summarised by the Riga Tourism Development Bureau, showed that the number of total nights spent in Riga has reached a total of 786 125 in the second three-month period of 2018.
It is a 9% increase, when compared to the second quarter of 2017. As to the countries, where the visitors have come from in April-June this year, Germany stands out with 13.3%. Russia came second with 9.6% of the guests, followed by Lithuania, the UK and Finland with 6.3-6.4% each.
