Latvia con­tin­ues pro­vid­ing med­i­cal as­sis­tance to vic­tims of cri­sis in Ukraine

On Mon­day, 22 Oc­to­ber, eight vic­tims of the cri­sis in Ukraine com­menced 18-day long treat­ment in Na­tional Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion Cen­tre in Vaivari, as re­ported by Lat­vian For­eign Af­fairs Min­istry.

«In re­sponse to the re­quest from Ukraine to con­tinue pro­vid­ing re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion for vic­tims of the mil­i­tary con­flict in the coun­try, Latvia’s Cabi­net of Min­istry al­lo­cated EUR 34,000 from the state bud­get for emer­gen­cies to fi­nance re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion,» For­eign Af­fairs Min­istry re­minds.

BNN had pre­vi­ously re­ported that Latvia started pro­vid­ing re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion to vic­tims of the con­flict in Ukraine in 2014.

The min­istry notes that us­ing the afore­men­tioned state sup­port pro­gramme it has been pos­si­ble to pro­vide treat­ment to 27 peo­ple who were in­jured in armed clashes in eastern ter­ri­to­ries of Ukraine.
