Latvia continues providing medical assistance to victims of crisis in Ukraine
On Monday, 22 October, eight victims of the crisis in Ukraine commenced 18-day long treatment in National Rehabilitation Centre in Vaivari, as reported by Latvian Foreign Affairs Ministry.
«In response to the request from Ukraine to continue providing rehabilitation for victims of the military conflict in the country, Latvia’s Cabinet of Ministry allocated EUR 34,000 from the state budget for emergencies to finance rehabilitation,» Foreign Affairs Ministry reminds.
BNN had previously reported that Latvia started providing rehabilitation to victims of the conflict in Ukraine in 2014.
The ministry notes that using the aforementioned state support programme it has been possible to provide treatment to 27 people who were injured in armed clashes in eastern territories of Ukraine.
