Several sexual harassment victims go after Lithuanian mp
Three young women on Wednesday, March 15, filed a complaint with the Lithuanian Prosecutor General’s Office, claiming that they had been sexually harassed by Kestutis Pukas, a member of the Seimas. The lawyer said that one of the women had previously worked as an aide to Pukas at the Seimas and the other two had tried to get the job. Elena Martinoniene, spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General’s Office, confirmed that the complaint had been received. She added that a woman had also filed a separate complaint containing similar allegations. In the face of an impeachment motion amid sexual harassment allegations, Pukas does not intend to step down as a member of the Seimas even though the speaker of the Lithuanian parliament has twice called on him to do so. Lithuania’s Prosecutor General’s Office has launched a probe into the accusations following the PMS’ decision outstrip the embattled parliamentarian of his parliamentarian mandate.
