Lithua­nia re­ceives 14 refugees from Syria un­der EU pro­gram

Four­teen refugees from Syria have ar­rived in Lithua­nia un­der the Euro­pean Union’s (EU) pro­gram, the Mi­gra­tion Depart­ment an­nounced.

“On April 12 of 2017, four fam­i­lies (14 in­di­vid­u­als) of the Syr­ian Arab Repub­lic were re­lo­cated to Lithua­nia from Greece,” reads the press re­lease.

As of to­day, Lithua­nia has re­ceived 276 peo­ple from Italy, Greece and Turkey un­der the EU pro­gram.

Lithua­nia, two years ago, com­mit­ted it­self to re­ceiv­ing 1,105 refugees from coun­tries, such as Syria, Iraq and Eritrea, over two years.
