New political partythe Movement For! established in Latvia
A new political party positioning itself as a pro-european liberal-centrist political force has been established in Latvia. A total of 298 people registered as members of the new party called Kustiba Par! (The Movement For!) and 274 voted in favor of establishment of the new party, while none voted against or abstained. The new party describes its key values as free individual, consolidated society, the rule-of-law country and unity in Europe. The Movement For! will seek to ensure equal opportunities for all people in Latvia as a modern European country governed by the rule-of-law.
The party's objectives include: building a consolidated society, ensuring democracy and the rule-of-law in a parliamentary republic, creating conditions favorable for business to facilitate dynamic and sustainable growth in Latvia.
As reported, a new political movement announced on July 26 unites five MPS who recently left the Unity party: Ilze Vinkele, Lolita Cigane, Andrejs Judins, Aleksejs Loskutovs and Ints Dalderis. Other well-known figures involved in the new political movement include: former economics minister Daniels Pavluts, political analyst Marija Golubeva and entrepreneur Martins Stakis, the owner of Innocent Coffee Masters and Innocent Pro.
