Face­book Ac­quires Ocu­lus

Not long af­ter Face­book’s $19 bil­lion ac­qui­si­tion of What­sapp, and Face­book’s stock grow­ing larger than 150% in the last year; CEO Mark Zucker­berg makes a stock-cash deal yet again to buy the up-and-com­ing vir­tual re­al­ity head­gear pro­ducer Ocu­lus. This is the third time Face­book spends more than a bil­lion dol­lars to buy a com­pany that isn’t bring­ing much rev­enue, and al­low­ing it to con­duct its busi­ness ex­clu­sively. Face­book is pay­img $400 mil­lion cash and 23.1 mil­lion shares of Face­book stock worth $1.6 bil­lion. The deal also in­cludes a $300 mil­lion earn-out in cash and stock.
