Uncompromising Approach A special 789bhp hypercar tribute to the late Ayrton Senna
In terms of no holds barred performance cars, Mclaren has produced two legendary models: the F1 (1992-1998) and the P1 (2013-2015). But for their third effort, the company says they wanted to avoid the compromises made on the P1 in needing to satisfy both road and track requirements. So they’re giving us two models instead: a streetlegal 1 million USD track car called ‘Senna’ (right), and an upcoming Hyper-gt. The Senna looks brutal, as it uncompromisingly prioritised function over form, so as to extract maxim downforce from its revolutionary active aerodynamics. It’s also very light at 1,200kg, and the result is a car that can do 0-100km/h in 2.8 secs, and 0-200 km/h in 6.8sec. Top speed? 340 km/h.
