Black Hole British architect creates a building that the brain can’t quite understand

Bespoke - - OMG! -

Besides the extraordinary feats of athleticism, one of the highlights of this February’s Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, was a pitch-black Hyundai-sponsored pavilion created by London-based architect Asif Khan. Its façade was painted in Vantablack – a new nanotech material that absorbs 99.96 per cent of light – and dotted with thousands of twinkling lights in order to create the appearance of a window looking into the depths of outer space. This supersensory exterior was then juxtaposed with a stark bright white interior that featured synchronised rain channelled into a lake.
