Taste & Flavors

Autumn… why does it seem so inviting?

-

Welcome to the mellower season, when things start slowing down and each moment feels more calm and quiet. It’s the perfect time to take account of what you’ve done, what you didn’t do, and what you’d like to do next year. So we did just that – looked at what we’ve done in terms of the stories and information that matter to you the most. We took account of your wants and needs and we’re ready to bring you the best of what Taste & Flavors has to offer in this issue, and the ones to come.

Our autumn edition is sizzling with new recipe ideas from around the world, creative ways to set your table and entertain guests, as well as celebrity interviews and the latest hot spots around town. We were thrilled when our feature story interviewee, Marcel Ghanem agreed to cook with one of our favorite gourmet chefs, Youssef Akiki. It was a f irst for us and apparently Marcel, since despite being a food lover, he had never actually cooked anything before.

When the World Cup was still in full swing, it was the perfect inspiration for our “Favorite Dish” article with four of Lebanon’s most gracious ambassador’s wives. And, to top it all off, we couldn’t have imagined that our choice for “A Taste of ” would be the winner of the World Cup. Explore the taste and flavors of Germany with our guide, the director of the Goethe Institute in Lebanon, Ulrich Nowak.

And, when it comes to food and wine, we are truly blessed to live in a culinary rich area with remarkable produce and new restaurants popping up daily. So, as you sit down tonight to eat an undoubtedly delicious meal, remember to slow things down a little to appreciate the bounty of the autumn harvest…... it’s the perfect time of year.
