Taste & Flavors

Some like it hot!

-

In Beirut, the summer heat can be in full swing by midMay all the way into October. This long stretch offers the perfect opportunity to experiment with seasonal cuisine and, of course, wine. The heat dictates a very simple formula for food and drinks – keep it light like our Quick & Easy cheese pairings for that perfect alfresco nibble or go one step further with our Special Occasion menu – fresh tomato salad to start, with a peach and almond tart for dessert. If turning on an oven is not on the cards, our sorbet recipes are sure to cool you down. Or, add a touch of liquor to that frozen treat and you’ll get the ideal party drink for dinner with friends.

This year at HORECA Beirut, the magazine had carte blanche with a full lineup of celebrity chefs, so we’ve shared their recipes from gourmet creations to Lebanese favorites. We were even privy to the tips and tricks of France’s Master Chef, Thierry Marx, sharing his signature dish and Lebanon’s sweetheart, Salma Hayek, revealing which mezze she grew up eating. Yes, the Michelin stars seemed to align to bring you the most celebrity-f illed issue we’ve had yet. So, sit back on that beach chair, relax and get a taste of T&F.
