U.K. envoy talks regional, local issues with officials


BEIRUT: The British envoy to Lebanon focused on local and regional developmen­ts in meetings with Lebanese officials Thursday, the state-run National News Agency reported. Ambassador Chris Rampling met with Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea at the LF headquarte­rs in Maarab. They were joined by Joseph Gebeily, head of the LF-affiliated Lebanese Informatio­n Center in Washington. Rampling also met with Marada Movement leader Sleiman Frangieh. In a third meeting, the diplomat headed to the seat of the Maronite Church and held talks with Patriarch Beshara Rai. –
