Mil­i­tary judge in­dicts ter­ror­ism sus­pects

BEIRUT: Mil­i­tary In­ves­tiga­tive Judge Fadi Sawan Thurs­day in­dicted three Syr­i­ans and one Le­banese sus­pected of be­long­ing to ter­ror­ist groups, the state-run Na­tional News Agency re­ported. In the first in­dict­ment, Syr­i­ans Mo­ham­mad Mo­hebed­dine and Akram Amer were ac­cused of killing Syr­ian sol­diers in­side Le­banon and be­long­ing to the Free Syr­ian Army, an op­po­si­tion group in the Syr­ian war. The two other sus­pects were in­dicted for their al­leged in­volve­ment with ter­ror­ist groups in the north­east­ern Le­banese town of Ar­sal. Le­banese Aa.Aa. was ac­cused of be­long­ing to the ex­trem­ist group for­merly known as the Nusra Front, and at­tempt­ing to kill two Le­banese sol­diers. He was also ac­cused of mon­i­tor­ing Le­banese Army pa­trols and fir­ing a weapon. A Syr­ian iden­ti­fied as Is­mail Mo­ham­mad Taleb was ac­cused of be­long­ing to Daesh (ISIS). –
