FNB M4million theft trial continues

A part heard case in which two men including a former employee of the First National Bank (FNB) Lesotho are accused of the 2008 theft of M4million from the bank is expected to proceed in the High Court this week.

The accused who allegedly stole the money on October 26, 2008 are Lehlohonolo ’Mote and Lehlohonolo Tsikinyane who was a teller at the bank at the time. Justice Tšeliso Monaphathi is this week expected to hear more evidence from the prosecution after which King’s Counsel Motiea Teele and Advocate

Monaheng Rasekoai who represent the accused will present the defence’s case.

’Mote and Tsikinyane were initially charged together with Lisema Ramokhoabane and Seemane Qhoai, but the two have since passed on.

They were also charged along with Sekhonyana Ntlhabo and his son Monaheng, but the Crown represented by Adv Motsei Tlali has since dropped charges against them after they turned state witnesses.
