NMDS must give students their allowances

The Editor,

Students in some local institutions of higher learning are boycotting classes because the National Manpower Development Secretariat (NMDS) has not yet paid their stipends.

We desperately need the money and we therefore appeal to NMDS to give us the allowances as we need to pay rentals, buy food and most importantly our school materials.

Most of us come from poor backgrounds and our families cannot afford to feed us or pay our accommodation bills while the secretariat sorts its affairs out.

If we do not get the stipends before the end of this month, only God knows what will become of us.

The ministers responsible also have to intervene because students are suffering. B.T Maseru
