LESLIE Notši ( has left his Kick4Life coaching job after he was appointed the technical director of the Lesotho Football Association (LeFA). Notši succeeds Lehlohonolo Thotanyana who recently took up a job as Lioli FC coach.

Notši, who has previously coached all men’s soccer national teams, is expected to report for duty tomorrow in his new position. He is also the incumbent coach for the national under-20 soccer team Makoanyane XI.

The former Matlama goalkeeper joined Kick4Life in November 2015 replacing Motlalepula Majoro as the head coach. Among his achievements with the Old Europa side is finishing in the top four in the 2016/17 season.

Notši confirmed his appointment on Thursday and said he was pleased to be offered the chance to run the technical director’s officer. He said he was looking forward to making an impact on local football.

“It is true that I will be leaving Kick4Life because my contract with them is ending this month end (June),” Notši said.

“There is no bad blood between me and Kick4Life. They gave me another offer but I explained to the club that I needed to take up a new job and they understood. We parted ways on good terms.”

Notši said he was grateful for being entrusted to be part of a “marvelous project” as Kick4Life.

“It was such an honor to work with Kick4Life and I am still proud of all that we have achieved together. However, as a person, sometimes you get new challenges thrown at you and that is the reason for my departure.

“It is not going to be an easy task but I am also looking forward to helping grow the sport,” a jubilant Notši said.

Notši who has previously briefly coached South Africa’s National First Division side, Garankuwa United FC, admitted that filling in Thotanyana’s boots is a tough task.

“All the people who have held that office have done well and I know what challenges await me. However, the support that I am already getting from Thotanyana is amazing and I guess it will make things much easier.

“I have also worked at LeFA before so I am familiar with the environment and that should be handy,” he said.

LeFA secretary general Mokhosi Mohapi said Notši will continue as the under 20 coach until the new coach is appointed.

“It is true that he has been hired and he is expected to start on Monday (tomorrow). He will also continue as the national under-20 coach until he makes a recommendation for a coach who will take over from him.

“Remember among other things that his office is responsible for is recommending coaches for the national teams then the board appoints such coach,” Mohapi said.
