Geldpolitische Lockerung möglich
Frankfurt/main. Die Europäische Zentralbank (EZB) könnte in der Corona-krise ihre bereits sehr expansive Geldpolitik weiter lockern. Sollte dies erforderlich sein, sei die EZB bereit, all ihre Instrumente einzusetzen, sagte die deutsche Ezb-direktorin Isabel Schnabel der Zeitung „Financial Times“. Das Interview wurde am Mittwoch auf der Internetseite der EZB veröffentlicht. Das Corona-notprogramm PEPP, unter dem die EZB bis zum Jahresende Wertpapiere über 750 Milliarden Euro kaufen will, könnte sowohl im Umfang als auch in der Zusammensetzung angepasst werden, bekräftigte Schnabel. Ähnlich hatte sich am Dienstag Frankreichs Notenbankchef François Villeroy de Galhau geäußert. Analysten können sich eine Aufstockung des Programms bereits auf der nächsten Ezb-ratssitzung am 4. Juni vorstellen. Grund ist das hohe Kauftempo der EZB, weshalb das Pepp-programm bereits im Herbst ausschöpft sein dürfte. dpa
