TRIBUTE TO IMAGINATION

-

Reminding us of the power of imagination as well as the wri en word, Montblanc launched the Meisterstuck Le Petit Prince Special Edition collection at Hotel Stripes KL in conjunction with the 75th anniversary of legendary French writer, poet and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s classic novella Le Petit Prince. The se ing, inspired by the book’s mystical world, was divided into two atmospheres, ‘day’ and ‘night’, where guests explored the adventures of the title character in the ‘day’ and the new fine writing instruments under the ‘night’ sky. Upon arrival, guests were introduced to the story at the Gallery of Imagination, told in the form of a 2D photo wall format complemented with watercoloured illustrations and drawings from the book, as well as 3D pop-up features. Guests learnt about the Prince’s adventures and his encounter with the fox, who plays a key role in bringing out the story’s main themes – close bonds and human relationships. The characters, along with the rose, another icon central to the narrative, were also quilled onto hand-calligraphed cards, for guests to take home as mementos and encouragement to add their personal messages and send to their loved ones. As the ‘day’ turned into

‘night’, guests were ushered into a space-inspired room where Montblanc CEO Nicolas Baretzki launched the new pen collection and subsequently invited actor Lawrence Wong to pen his autograph with the Special Edition’s fountain pen on the fine stationery. The collection also includes men’s accessories, all of which feature the fox prominently in the design. Both Le Petit Prince and Meisterstuck are fine expressions of high cra smanship, imagination and humanity.
