FIRST-HAND WATCHMAKING

Introduced 15 years ago by Sincere Fine Watches (SFW), Sincere Watch Academy was dedicated to enriching watch enthusiasts with different brand histories and developing greater appreciation of horology. Building on the success of the previous series, the Academy is making a big comeback in both Malaysia and Singapore. The first installment was carried out in pa nership with Swiss independent brand Armin Strom, known for its complication Resonance. Prior to dinner, while mingling over wine, guests feasted their eyes on the Armin Strom Mirrored Force Resonance collection on display. Sharing the main aims of the relaunch, Kiki Loo, marketing manager of SFW, said that the Academy serves to present the niche and unique propositions of different brands, with new insights into the intricacies of watchmaking. Following a sumptuous four-course dinner, guests were treated to a hands-on session conducted by Claude Greisler, Armin Strom’s CEO and technical director, and creator of the Mirrored Force Resonance. The company was taught straight graining and simple assembly, the basics of watchmaking. With all five senses satisfied, the pa y le in greater anticipation of the upcoming series of Sincere Watch Academy.
