Camel Active explores both the metropolitan and wild landscapes of Nippon for its fall/ winter 2018 Heritage collection

Camel Active explores both the traditional and modern environments of Tokyo, one of the most populous, not to mention futuristic, metropolises in the world, from the bright lights of neon-lit skyscrapers and the city’s hustle and bustle, to the modern culture and vigorous beat of the ‘taiko’. The exploration then continues in the wilderness of Hokkaido, down the breath-taking Hell Valley trail, with hot stream and volcanic gases emanating from the ground, against the awe-inspiring backdrop of snowy mountains.
All that is captured in the brand’s fall/ winter 2018 collection, featuring newly interpreted, tailored classics meet heavily treated workwear. The look is clean and combines casual tailoring with different combinations of materials, treatments and colour-blocking, in mix-and-match style.
Check shirts are given a new look with multi-coloured placements, in a wide range of proportions and geometries such as library checks, shaded checks and travel checks to create a natural, modern feel. Colour-blocking and contrast-tipping is also an important theme in this collection, with vertical colourblocking in t-shirts and long-sleeve shirts and contrast-tipping in bags and t-shirts making it a new fashion statement. Garment dyed treatment in chinos and camouflage that are used in the all-over print is always the signature of camel active military look.
The overall colour in this collection plays in harmony to create a subtle and authentic look.
Distinctive and masculine shoes such as boots in both mid-cut and high-cut, loafers and Vamos are made of robust leather and welt accents with lightweight deep tread soles. Additional functions such as lightness and comfortability of the inner linings are important features and counterpart to the distinctive look.
Fundamental features such as spacious compartments, multiple pockets (detachable pockets) and lightweight are deeply rooted in the bag collection, ideal for outdoor travellers and daily use. The high-quality leather is also applied to small leather goods such as belts and wallets, with the waxy grainy, washed effects and irregular shades conveying the urban workmanship. AM
