Longines pres­i­dent, Wal­ter von Känel, to­gether with his vice pres­i­dent and head of in­ter­na­tional mar­ket­ing, Juan-Car­los Capelli, un­veiled the lat­est de­sign by the watch man­u­fac­ture, the Con­quest V.H.P. GMT Flash Se ing, in the unique back­drop of the Lan­terna di Fuk­sas in Rome, a ma­jes­tic and con­tem­po­rary dome made of glass and steel over­look­ing the Eter­nal City. An ex­pan­sion of the Con­quest V.H.P. (Very High Pre­ci­sion) fam­ily based on qua z fol­low­ing the three-handed and chrono­graph, ver­sions this time­piece is a must for glo­be­tro ers. It al­lows you to eas­ily change time zones ei­ther man­u­ally, fol­low­ing watch­mak­ing tra­di­tion, or by us­ing the sma ‘Flash Se ing’ sys­tem that sets the watch us­ing flash pulses from a sma phone. This in­no­va­tive func­tion re­quires no ex­ter­nal con­nec­tion, such as Wi-Fi or Blue­tooth. Dur­ing the course of the evening, Longines also un­veiled the new cam­paign de­signed for the Con­quest V.H.P. GMT Flash Se ing. De­vel­oped around the theme of travel, it stages the brand’s Am­bas­sadors of El­e­gance in dif­fer­ent cities, at home or away. The launch was pre­ceded by the 15th leg of the 2018 Longines Global Cham­pi­ons Tour that saw the world’s best rid­ers and horses gather at the his­tor­i­cal arena of Sta­dio dei Marmi, flanked by 60 clas­si­cal mar­ble stat­ues de­pict­ing dif­fer­ent spo s. As the ti­tle pa ner and of­fi­cial timekeeper, Longines is proud to have timed the stun­ning vic­tory of Ben Ma­her rid­ing Ex­plo­sion W. The English rider fin­ished ahead of Hen­rik von Eck­er­mann on Can­tinero and Jos Ver­looy on Cara­cas, who se­cured the sec­ond and third place, re­spec­tively. Pres­i­dent von Känel pre­sented Ma­her with an el­e­gant Longines time­piece as a re­ward, to­gether with Capelli.
