Longines president, Walter von Känel, together with his vice president and head of international marketing, Juan-Carlos Capelli, unveiled the latest design by the watch manufacture, the Conquest V.H.P. GMT Flash Se ing, in the unique backdrop of the Lanterna di Fuksas in Rome, a majestic and contemporary dome made of glass and steel overlooking the Eternal City. An expansion of the Conquest V.H.P. (Very High Precision) family based on qua z following the three-handed and chronograph, versions this timepiece is a must for globetro ers. It allows you to easily change time zones either manually, following watchmaking tradition, or by using the sma ‘Flash Se ing’ system that sets the watch using flash pulses from a sma phone. This innovative function requires no external connection, such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. During the course of the evening, Longines also unveiled the new campaign designed for the Conquest V.H.P. GMT Flash Se ing. Developed around the theme of travel, it stages the brand’s Ambassadors of Elegance in different cities, at home or away. The launch was preceded by the 15th leg of the 2018 Longines Global Champions Tour that saw the world’s best riders and horses gather at the historical arena of Stadio dei Marmi, flanked by 60 classical marble statues depicting different spo s. As the title pa ner and official timekeeper, Longines is proud to have timed the stunning victory of Ben Maher riding Explosion W. The English rider finished ahead of Henrik von Eckermann on Cantinero and Jos Verlooy on Caracas, who secured the second and third place, respectively. President von Känel presented Maher with an elegant Longines timepiece as a reward, together with Capelli.
