In 1973, one of the first wa­ter­proof leather boots of its kind was in­tro­duced by the Abington Shoe Com­pany, which in­cor­po­rated premium full­grain nubuck leather, thick rub­ber lug soles and un­prece­dented cra sman­ship. The yel­low boot be­came an in­stant clas­sic, and prompted the com­pany to changed its name to Tim­ber­land, hav­ing al­ready made a name when it comes to pro­vid­ing footwear for the hard­work­ing New Eng­lan­ders, through rugged ter­rain and wet weather. The boot was never in­tended to be a fash­ion icon, but by the mid-1980s, Tim­ber­land’s orig­i­nal wa­ter­proof boot ap­peased to the masses through­out Italy, the United King­dom, Ger­many, be­fore sub­se­quently, in Hong

Kong with the rise of ur­ban hip-hop style in 1985, lead­ing up to its global recog­ni­tion to­day. Tim­ber­land marked the 45th an­niver­sary of the iconic boot, with a spe­cial col­lec­tion of boots cel­e­brat­ing the her­itage of boot­mak­ing: remixes of the iconic yel­low boot were rolled out, made with premium ma­te­ri­als and expe cra sman­ship, com­pleted with sil­houe es of Tim­ber­land’s low-pro­file chukkas, pull-on Chelsea styles, and Ea hkeep­ers® ver­sions made with eco-con­scious ma­te­ri­als. In Malaysia, the “45 Years – Never Missed a Beat” pa y was held in Mid Val­ley Mega­mall, where an ex­clu­sive trav­el­ling show­case of 45 pairs of Tim­ber­land’s Iconic Yel­low Boot, a ully cra ed through years of col­lab­o­ra­tions, lim­ited edi­tions and pa ner­ships were on dis­play around the gi­ant yel­low boots. In­vited guests and me­dia were also treated to a fash­ion show fea­tur­ing some of Tim­ber­land’s lat­est and great­est, ush­ered down the catwalk to the live beats of DJ Big­gie’s set. There were also a bevy of en­gag­ing ac­tiv­i­ties hap­pen­ing, which guests could bring home spe­cially cra ed good­ies, as well as the chance to win a brand new pair of the Tim­ber­land yel­low boots, and travel bag wo h over RM2,000.
